As opposed to semesters or trimesters, the university runs on a quarter schedule. Quarter schedules accommodate students who want to work and go to school by giving them the choice to get an education on their time. The courses are rigorous and professors challenge and help their students to succeed and be motivated. There is a vast list of academic programs offered at the university, but can vary by location or students can attend online classes. The quarter system has the potential to give students the opportunity to graduate earlier than originally expected, because the academic schedule is at a more rapid pace than a semester or trimester schedule. Instead of 15 weeks in a semester, a quarter contains 10 weeks. A student typically enrolls in 3 to 4 courses per quarter. Quarters can be a good motivation tool for students to continue to attend courses.
